Scrap storage!

We all have fabric scraps and if you’re predominantly a quilter (like me) you will hang onto more than most! My scraps are organised by colour. I keep anything 2 1/2″ square and above. Most are kept in a drawer system…

DSCF0209 DSCF0210I also have a basket of solid scraps. Strips are kept in a bag for a lucky dip log cabin quilt I’m working on and the 2 1/2″ squares are in a zip bag because these are used for the centres of my log cabins at the moment, I’ll probably mix them all in when that project is finished.

I love looking at other people’s scrap storage ideas. Here are some of my favourites from around the web, click through for more details.

Old colourful casserole dishes (from Film in the Fridge)
In door mounted shoe storage (from Pioneer Valley Girl)
In jars (from Katie’s Quilting Corner)

Or you could sew scrap buckets with your scraps to use some up and provide colour co-ordinated storage like Wendy at The Crafter’s Apprentice…
